30 Days of Prayer for the Harvest

Day 30 – Tuesday, February 10, 2026

Read Luke 10:1-12

Today, as we conclude our 30 days of prayer, I want us to return where we started. Our theme verse for this thirty days is Luke 10:2 where Jesus says,

² Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

In Luke 10, as Jesus prepares seventy-two disciples to heal and preach that the kingdom of God has come, He tells them to pray for even more messengers. Jesus is not just looking for crowds; He wants emissaries who will invite others into a relationship with Him. Despite having gone from one—Jesus—to twelve, to more than seventy, the kingdom message needs even more heralds. Like their food, shelter, and clothing, only God can provide partners for the mission (Luke 10:4–7). Some will reject their message, but the message needs to get out to those who will hear and understand (Luke 10:13–15; Romans 10:14).

Day 29 – Saturday, February 9, 2026

Read Luke 15:1-10

¹ Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. ² And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” ³ So He spoke this parable to them, saying: ⁴ “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? ⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ ⁷ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”

⁸ “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? ⁹ And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ ¹⁰ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:1-10).

In Luke 15, Jesus told three parables that all make the same point: God goes to great effort to seek lost sinners and He greatly rejoices when they come to repentance.

Day 28 – Sunday, February 8, 2026

Read Psalm 22

Today, in our worship service, Lee Sucher will be bringing a message from Psalm 22. This psalm of David should be understood in association with Psalms 23 and 24. Psalm 22 describes the sufferings of the Good Shepherd, Jesus, for His sheep. Psalm 23 describes His care for His sheep. Psalm 24 describes His return in glory to reward His sheep. Psalm 22 includes prophetic sayings which Jesus uttered from the cross. It also predicts the afflictions he endured there (Matthew 27:27–56; Luke 22:63–65; 23:18–49). Many of the things David describes in Psalm 22 were partially realized in his own life, but fully fulfilled in the Messiah.

Consider these questions as you prepare for worship today:

Read Luke 15:1-7

Day 26 – Friday, February 6, 2026

Read Luke 15:1-7

¹ Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. ² And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” ³ So He spoke this parable to them, saying: ⁴ “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? ⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ ⁷ I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.” (Luke 15:1-7).

Luke 15 is one of the clearest and greatest statements in the Word of God concerning the love of God for lost sinners. Jesus tells the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son (prodigal son). Each story shows the heart of the Lord for the lost. The Lord is pictured as a good shepherd who searches until he finds one lost sheep (Luke 15:1-7), as a woman who searches until she finds her lost coin (Luke 15:8-10), and a father who looks for his lost son to return. In each story, there is great joy when the lost is found.

Day 25 – Thursday, February 5, 2026

Read Matthew 11:28-30

²⁸ “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

This week we are considering this gracious invitation from the lips of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a personal invitation from the Lord Himself for weary and burdened people to come to Himself.

Yesterday, we thought about Jesus’ command to, “Take My yoke upon you.” We saw that we are yoked together with Christ who bore the burden our sin and guilt on the cross. Today, let’s think about the command, “and learn from Me.”

This week, we are considering this gracious invitation from the lips of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a personal invitation from the Lord Himself for weary and burdened people to come to Him.

Today I want to focus on the second part of Jesus’ invitation, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me.”

²⁸ “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

This week we are considering this gracious invitation from the lips of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yesterday, we noticed that it is a personal invitation from the Lord Himself for people to come to Himself.

Today, notice those to whom Jesus gives this invitation. It’s for all those who “labor and are heavy laden”. Another translation says, “weary and burdened” (CSB).

Read Matthew 11:16-30

²⁸ “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. ³⁰ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

What a wonderful invitation this is from the lips of our Lord Jesus Christ! Do you want rest for your soul? If your soul is weary and burdened, if your soul is restless, Jesus is the answer.
